We’re looking for candidates for our Safety/Risk Management Internship. Our innovative, goal-oriented Internship Program is designed to prepare you for various aspects of store management. This program consists of paid, intensive hands-on training and focuses on teaching you the skills to be successful in store operations, leadership, and management. This position will begin in May/June 2018.

Responsibilities

  • Help to review, monitor, assess and react to individual workers compensation claims.
  • Assist in communicating and coordinate with third-party vendors to manage workers compensation and other insurance claims.
  • Learn how Blain’s report Federal, State and Local environmental and safety reporting agencies.
  • Learn how to provide oversight for Return-to-Work program and facilitate individual return-to-work initiatives for associates as needed.
  • Assist with introduction, implementation and training of best practice safety programs for individual stores as well as CPR/AED programs at Corporate and store facilities.
  • Help analyze, interpret and take action on loss data and implement strategies to reduce loss.
  • Assist in Collecting and compiling injury and workers compensation data to provide information for other departments.
  • Learn how to conduct in-store inspections to assist, identify and develop remediation strategies that may affect customer or store associate safety.
  • Learn how to respond to stores with environmental issues and implement safety measures.
  • Demonstrate awareness-Demonstrate awareness and compliance with Loss Prevention and safety policies and/or procedures

 

Qualifications

  • Be 12-18 months from Graduation from an accredited University or College
  • Have a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Ability to learn internal software systems
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Successfully complete a drug and background check
